  2. NORE Grenache Blanc 2017

    Named after the dramatic Pic de Nore – the highest point of the Montagne Noire, this has a honeyed, floral nose.  On the palate it is bursting with lush stone fruit flavours especially apricot with a bitter twist.

  3. Domaine des Lauriers, Prestige Picpoul 2018

    Consistently our favourite Picpoul, it has a green tinge, with a citrusy nose.  On the palate there is great concentration of soft fruit, an aromatic finish, a hint of refreshing spritz and a long aftertaste.

  4. Domaine Jouclary Chardonnay 2018

    Harvested in the early hours of the morning to maintain maximum freshness, this has a smoky/toasty nose with loads of exotic peach and mango fruit, finishing with a long nutty finish. Textbook Chardonnay!

  5. Domaine Pré Baron Sauvignon Blanc 2018

    Pure Sauvignon aromas of elderflowers and hedgerows lead into a racy mouthful of redcurrant leaf and gooseberry fruit. The 2018 vintage is richer than usual. More than a match for many more expensive Sancerres!

  6. Winterhoek Sauvignon Blanc 2018

    A very classy Sauvignon Blanc, made from 50:50 stainless steel and 3rd fill barriques vinification, giving it great texture and complexity with soft gooseberry fruit and a lovely savoury finish.

  7. Vila Nova Alvarinho 2018 
    Vinho Verde, Portugal

    This vinho verde is made from the Alvarinho grape, well known in Spain. Citrus aromas with hints of mandarin mark the nose. There is lovely texture, delicious stone fruit and good minerality on the finish.

  8. Vidussi Ribolla Gialla 2018 
    Collio, Friuli

    A great new find, made from the Ribolla variety, this has a wonderful floral nose with juicy fruit flavours of guava and mandarin, underpinned by a gentle aromatic quality, finishing with a hint of orange zest.

    Crafted from 60% Roussanne, with Carignan Blanc, Grenache Blanc & Vermentino from a limestone terroir. Concentrated fruit, floral and mineral with superb balance and an almond finish.

  10. Domaine des Terres de Chatenay, Fontenay 2016

    From a village adjacent to Pouilly Fuissé, this magnificent wine is made from 80 year-old Chardonnay vines, of which 10% is aged in oak. A stunning white Burgundy. Elsewhere it sells for £14.95!

  12. Tabali Talinay Chardonnay 2017

    One of Chile’s best Chardonnays, this has an almost Burgundian nose. On the palate it is rich, complex, with mineral character from the chalk terroir, and an underlying salinity.  Very long. A stunner!

    Forget the dull, sweetish wines of the past, now Rosé is made to be enjoyed all year round!  These two wonderful single vineyard examples are made from premium quality grapes, both bursting with freshness and flavour.

    A Provence-style rosé with 50% Cinsault with 30% Grenache and 20% Carignan, this is very pale rosé in colour, with a lovely floral nose, leading into white peach and summer pudding flavours.

    From the Swartland area of the Cape, this is 65% Shiraz cofermented with 10% Viognier and 25% Mourvèdre. A rich, dark wine with wonderful fruit and chocolate and savoury notes.

  17. Domaine Cros Tradition 2017

    This is made from old Carignan, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault with no oak ageing. There are black fruits & violets on the nose with a wonderful mouthful of soft, crushed black cherries and blackberries.

  23. Domaine Boutinot Les Côteaux Schisteux, Séguret 2014/15

    From the adjacent village of Séguret this is made from very old Grenache vines in a high-altitude vineyard. It is aged for 24 months in a mix of new and old oak. It is deep purple in colour, with a wonderful nose of ripe cherries, which leads into a big mouthful of succulent black and morello cherry fruit, with a hint of cedar and finishing with very gentle tannins

  24. Sentiers de Bagatelle, Colline d’Assignan 2015/16

    A blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Carignan, aged in large oak casks. Intense black fruit nose with hints of mint and minerals. On the palate it is concentrated, with flavours of soft black fruits, displaying great elegance and finishing with lovely soft tannins and hints of balsamic and liquorice.

  30. Le Riche ‘Richesse’ 2016

    Deep in colour with a minty nose, this Cabernet-based multi-blend is packed with velvety cassis and red berry fruit, soft tannins, hints of eucalyptus and great length. The complexity comes from too many other varieties to mention.

  31. Salvaje Syrah 2018

    Almost opaque, this organic wine is made from 97% Syrah with 3% Roussanne. The nose is very perfumed, with concentrated, silky elegant blackcurrant and blueberry fruit on the palate. Delicious!

This was an excellent year, combining great ripeness with freshness. Light gold in colour, on the nose there are citrus notes with hints of marmalade and honey. It is concentrated yet very elegant, with flavours of honey, confit lemons and frangipani , finishing with clean acidity and great length
