February Tasting

A Tasting of Cru Beaujolais

Do you know your Brouilly from your Fleurie or your Julienas from your Morgon?

Wines from Beaujolais have come a long way since the days of Nouveau. The very best are represented by the 10 great Cru Beaujolais.  Compared to their neighbours in Northern Burgundy these wines represent fantastic quality for money.

This year we made an exciting discovery of a new vineyard in Beaujolais with vines in many of the great Crus of Beaujolais.  We’ve managed to acquire a small parcel of these wines and for our first event in the New Year we’re showing them all in a tutored tasting.

These are glorious fruit driven wines coming from the Southern part of Burgundy.

We’ll take you through eight different wines, including  Brouilly, Julienas, Morgon and Fleurie – illustrated by slides of the region, vineyards and winemakers.

All these wines are vinified in the same way from the Gamay grape and it’s fascinating to see how each wine’s character is defined by its individual terroir.

Tickets are only £12 per person and guests are welcome.

Join us and discover some exciting new wines and there will be an exclusive opportunity to buy a selection of the wines on the night.

Join us at 23 Stonegate on Friday 14th February 2025 at 7.30 pm
