Smalltown, The Black Craft Shiraz 2020

Smalltown Vineyards The Black Craft Shiraz 2020
Barossa, South Australia
Originally the Magpie Estate, this has now become Smalltown Vineyards, a merger between two famous Barossa winemakers Rolf Binder and Tom White.
It is made from 100% Shiraz. The Shiraz is sourced from the finest available vineyard sites across the premium Northern Barossa Valley. It is fermented in open fermentors, then aged 11 months in a variety of oaks, all American and French, of which around 35% is new.
Deep purple in colour, it has an enticing nose of blackberries with a hint of vanilla pod. It is bursting with succulent, ripe blackberry fruit with a sprinkling of black pepper, but it is beautifully fresh – not a hint of jam. There are soft tannins, good acidity, a touch of liquorice at the finish and great length.
Available elsewhere for £13.50. Totally seductive and fantastic value for this quality!
