Pierre Cros, the self-styled Vigneron Militant of the Minervois, makes a fascinating wine from the Touriga Nacional, a Portugese grape variety.  Deep in colour, mature at the rim, it abounds with gamey aromas and flavours of damsons with hints of truffles and undergrowth.  Definitely a wine for game pie, venison or wild boar….
