Domaine Boutinot Les Côteaux 2021
AC Côtes du Rhône Villages
This is made from mainly Grenache with some Syrah from six of the adjacent villages, mainly Cairanne, Sablet and Séguret. The wine is mostly unoaked but 12% is barrel-aged, which is added to the final blend.
With a medium/deep purple colour, there are inviting aromas of red berry fruits, tobacco leaf and a hint of oak, while on the palate there is lots of soft, damsony, spicy fruit with a peppery finish and very little tannin.
All in all, a lovely, juicy, classic Côtes du Rhône with the added complexity of its Villages status.
