This is an interesting blend of 50% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre, 15% Grenache and 15% Carignan. The Carignan and Grenache vines from this site are an amazing 50 years old! The wine is aged in large oak casks. This 2020 is a great follow-on from the 2019.
This is very deep in colour, with an intense red fruit nose with hints of mint and minerals. On the palate is very concentrated, floral, silky and juicy, with flavours of blackberries, cherries and prunes, finishing with hints of balsamic and good length. A supremely elegant wine for a region often associated with blockbusters.
