Château la Bastide L’Optimé 2010

£8.50

Domaine la Bastide L’Optimé 2010
AOC Corbières
Guilhem Durand uses his very best grapes to make this wine.  The assemblage is 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache, which is then aged carefully in oak barrels to improve the complexity of the wine while imparting just a hint of oak flavour.

Awarded a prestigious three stars in Guide Hachette this year, this is a great wine.  A subtle spicy nose. On the palate there is wonderful blackberry concentration, and flavours of garrigue, spice, coffee and vanilla abound.  If you like Châteauneuf-du-Pape, you’ll love this!  An amazing bargain for this amount of power and complexity.
