Many consider the Nerello Mascalese to be Sicily’s finest red grape variety, where around Etna it makes some of its top wines. This is a perfect introduction to the variety – vibrant in its youth and bursting with joyous cherry fruit.
Pale cherry in colour, it boasts a mouthwatering cherry and blackberry nose, which leads into a mouthful of fresh, zingy cherry fruit with very little tannin and a gentle bitter twist at the finish.
Perfect Summer red in the garden, which would benefit from a light chill.
